Amusing and Confusing Texts Between Landlords and Tenants

We all live under rent at one point or another, before we can afford to buy our own place. When choosing an apartment, especially in 2022, one thing you want to be sure of is choosing an apartment with an “out of your hair” kind of landlord. Some landlords are only there to make sure everything in the apartment works properly, while other landlords, as it seems, can be quite a nuisance. Either way, it’s important to stay on good terms with your landlord, and it’s not always an easy task. They say that the ideal landlord is the one you never hear from, and judging by these confusing text messages, we couldn’t agree more. So let’s bring in 2022 the right way with the best, most outrageous landlord tests that people received.

This Is Your Landlord Speaking
Sending a text message to the wrong person is something that happened to all of us at least once before. Take it from us, if someone tells you this never happened to them, they must be lying. It’s quite easy to send a text to the wrong recipient when we’re busy, in a rush or otherwise preoccupied, and it’s an understandable human mistake.

Sending a text message to the wrong person always creates an uncomfortable situation, but it’s even worse when this person is your landlord, and the text message was meant for your girlfriend. At least his landlord found a way of making things less awkward by reminding him he’s late on paying his rent as if he wasn’t feeling embarrassed enough as it is. Good job.
Hey All You Cool Cats and Kittens
Since the sensational Netflix documentary Tiger King was released in March 2020, the world was divided into two groups: the Joe Exotic camp and the Carole Baskin camp. If you’ve watched the show (if you haven’t – now’s the time), you’re familiar with the nearly-fatal rivalry between the two big cat owners, Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

The topic of exotic big cats in held and bred in the U.S. is a sensitive topic to many people, which is only a part of what made the show so popular. The other part are the shady characters. It seems as if this landlord was waiting for an opportunity to share her controversial opinion about the show, and since an opportunity never presented itself, she went ahead and shared it with her tenant.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
This time, it wasn’t the tenant who sent the wrong text message to the landlord, but the landlady who sent the wrong text message to her tenant. We don’t think of our landlords as people with rich and busy lives, because we hardly think about them at all. However, after seeing this text message, Audrey wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about her landlady having a “super time” with friends.

At least she was cool about it and sent another message to correct the situation and clear the confusion. If you ask us, this Joan seems like a sweet lady and a cool landlady, and Audrey should be thankful for that. We’re quite sure Audrey felt a bit uneasy when she received the first text message, but she probably realized it was an honest mistake, and she seems supportive of her landlady having a good time.
Law and Order
This is the kind of situation where the less they know is better. We’re not saying we’re encouraging white lies, or lies lies of any kind, but sometimes, there is such a thing as “too much honesty.” As this landlord was showing the house to new potential tenants, he was surprised to find stains on the carpet. When he asked his current tenant about it, his answer was even more surprising.

The tenant thought he was referring to another kind of stains all together – the kind they usually find using a blacklight in crime scenes on Law and Order. Sometimes it’s better to just say “yes, sir,” and not provide any further information. The good news is that the landlord would get new carpets for the apartment, the bad news is that the tenant wouldn’t see his deposit.
